Monday Night Football: We give you the FREE winner. 12-4 for the season

WE like the Carolina Panthers +9.5 over the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth Monday Night game of the year. The Dallas Cowboys face a early critical test tonight against the Carolina Panthers. The Cowboys have not looked real sharp in the first two game of the year. They beat the awful Tampa Bay Bucs in the season opener, then lost a close game on a last second FG by the NY Giants. The Panthers were destroyed on opening day by the Eagles and then came back last week to play a more respectable game against the Falcons. We like the Panthers tonight because of one main reason: the Cowboys defense has been very mediocre and we think the Panthers have enough offense to keep this game within a TD. Dallas doesn’t have a sack so far this year and the one thing that you need to do against the Panthers is to pressure Jake Delhomme. If you can do that you have a good chance to get turnovers. We think the Panthers will run the ball against the Cowboys and make enough plays in the passing game to keep this game close. Panthers +9.5 over Dallas Tired of losing? Denver Bronco News: The Broncos move to 3-0 with easy Raider win
Filed Under General | Leave a Comment

Denver beats the Raiders to move to 3-0 and becomes a surprise team in the NFL 2009 season.Does anyone reading this story really believe they thought the Broncos would be 3-0 to start this season? Well they are and they are doing it with DEFENSE! The Broncos had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season but through three games that defense (with mostly the same players) has given up only 16 total points! Yes, you read that right…only 16 total points in three games! What is the difference with these Broncos? Well on defense they are solely playing the 3-4 and are a much more physical defense. They fly to the ball, they are creating pressure on the QB, and they are getting turnovers. Ya, we know…they haven’t played a tough schedule yet but it really doesn’t matter….they still have only given up 16 points this year…a paltry 5.3 a game! On offense they are not flashy. They are steady. The Broncos, as usual, run the ball well and do just enough in the passing game to put points on the board. It is pretty obvious that eventually the passing game is going to need to be more productive. Kyle Orton has not thrown an interception so far this year, but he also hasn’t gotten the passing game into high gear. He continues to miss open receivers and except for the miracle against the Bengals the Broncos have not made many big plays. The Broncos special teams have been ok, nothing great but nothing real bad. The coaching has been outstanding, especially on defense. Mike Nolan has so far made all the right calls with the Broncos D. On offense head coach Josh McDaniels has realized what he has in Kyle Orton and doesn’t ask Orton to do too much. Can the Broncos make a serious playoff run? It is far to early to tell but one main concern for the Broncos is their upcoming schedule. It is brutal. Absolutely brutal for the next eight games and it starts in game four with the Dallas Cowboys. If the Broncos can split the next eight they will be 7-4 and probably in contention for the AFC West title and a wild card spot. So far the Broncos have been the surprise team in the NFL and if they stay healthy they should get better. But teams will start taking a harder look at Denver and not be overlooking them. We think Denver now has a chance to realistically win eight games. But more wins might be possible. The schedule gets so tough. Things will be interesting.

The Denver Broncos are 2-0 and travel to Oakland today to take on the hated Raiders. Can the Broncos make it 3-0? It would be very surprising to see the Broncos lose to the Raiders but then again, it is surprising to see that the Broncos are 2-0. Denver was impressive last week against a bad Cleveland team and won on opening weekend in a miracle finish against the Bengals. The Raiders 1-1 and coming off a rather pathetic win against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders biggest problem at this point with the Raiders is their QB position. Jamarcus Russell simply has been terrible in their first two games. So how do we see this game being played out? As we mentioned earlier we see the Broncos winning this game and possibly winning easy, but the Broncos will need to play better offensively to score an impressive win against the Raiders. Denver should be able to move the ball against the Raiders while the Bronco defense should be able to control the anemic Raider offense. We look for Kyle Orton to play better this week and put up some decent numbers. One guy the Broncos need to get going is their number one draft pick Knowshon Moreno. He has not been much of a factor in the first two games and the Broncos could really use him in the running game. The other guy the Broncos need to get going is Brandon Marshall. Marshall has been almost invisable the first two games but should be healthy and have a better understanding of the McDaniel playbook. We see a Broncos win 27-13. Mail this post |

Denver Bronco News- Is Josh McDaniels the right coach for the Broncos?
Filed Under Josh McDaniels | Leave a Comment
Still, McDaniels is not a universally liked figure in Denver and there are a couple of reasons for that. Number one being the battle he had with Jay Cutler that eventually led Cutler being traded to the Chicago Bears. Was this all McDaniels fault? Absolutely not, but he did share a good part of the blame. McDaniels let it be known that Cutler was available at the right price, which almost any coach would privately admit to. The problem that McDaniels had was that this information was leaded to the general public which made the incredibly immature Cutler furious. Could this situation have been resolved between Cutler and McDaniels….yes, it could have been but the Broncos knuckled under and let Cutler act like a punk and traded him. Pat Bowlen should be accountable for that and the trade could have been a terrific thing for the Broncos, although it is hard to let a franchise caliber QB go. They do not come around that often. Since the Cutler fiasco the Broncos have also had severe problems with Brandon Marshall, although it seems like things are getting a little bit better. What is McDaniels role in the Marshall situation? It is hard to say but one thing that is clear is that the Broncos are not going to let Marshall push them around the way they let Cutler push them around. Marshall probably will not be traded, at least this year. One of the issues with McDaniels is his age and his supreme confidence which comes off as arrogance not justified. After all he is a first year head coach that really hasn’t done much and right now is best known for his battles with Jay Cutler. But when you win your first two games, and your defense seems far better than what it was last year, people will have a tendency to cut you some slack. McDaniels is known as an offensive coach. He was the coordinator for the Patriots when they went undefeated during the regular season and set a single season scoring record. And that was the same year Tom Brady set the single season TD passes record and Randy Moss set the single season TD reception record. McDaniels is also the guy that turned Matt Cassel into a fairly solid QB for the Patriots last year when Cassel had NEVER started a single game in college or the NFL. It is obvious McDaniels understands offense and where to put people. But does that make McDaniels the right coach for the Denver Broncos? Well that is hard to say at this point but in our opinion McDaniels deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point. He is young, he is REALLy confident, he ruffles feathers…but he has the Broncos off to a 2-0 start, which is something very few people thought would happen. The Broncos do not have the talent at this point to compete for a title but is our feeling that McDaniels has the right plan and within a couple of years will have the Broncos competing for the Super Bowl.

Denver Bronco News: Four NFL football selections for week three
Filed Under NFL 2009 Week 3 Selections | Leave a Comment
The Denver Broncos lead the way with our week 3 NFL selections and we have three other selections for FREE for you!The Denver Broncos were HORRIBLE last year on defense so it comes as a complete surprise that in the first two games of the year they gave up a total of 13 points in the first two games. Sure, they have not played a top quality team but still…when you are as bad as they were last year and this year your defense only gives up 13 points in two games you do have something to brag about. Denver -2 over Oakland The Broncos are 2-0 and playing really good defense and now they get to play a pretty bad Oakland Raider football team. Denver’s defense has allowed only 13 points the entire season and we expect them to hold the Raiders to two TD’s or less this week while scoring 20 or more themselves. Denver 27 Oakland 13 Baltimore -13 over Clevleand Cleveland is just horrible. Baltimore is a top team. The Ravens have a terrfic defense and now are able to score on offense. This has the makings of a blowout and we think the Ravens easily cover the 13 point spread. Baltimore 28 Cleveland 7 Green Bay -6.5 over St. Louis This game is much like the Baltimore game. Green Bay is just so superior to St. Louis you wonder why this line is not much higher. That is a concern to us, are we missing something or is the public totally off on this line. We were expecting this to be a double digit line but at only -6.5 we are jumping all over this game. Green Bay 33 St. Louis 10 NY Giants -6.5 over Tampa Bay Another puzzling line to us. The Giants are one of the best teams in football. Tampa Bay is one of the worse. This game is a lot like the Green Bay game. You wonder why this line is not much higher. We do not think the Giants will have a let down after their big win over the Cowboys last week and we do not think Tampa Bay having homefiled advantage is going to make a difference. NY Giants 31 Tampa Bay 13 The NFL so far this season has been fairly easy. There have been some surprises, like the NY Jets and the Denver Broncos, but overall teams are playing much like we expected. There will be a week or weeks where the lines are dead on and the going gets tough but this is not the week. The lines for the teams we like are in our favor in a big way and we hope to take advantage of it. Would you like to hit 98% of your bets and make a living wagering on sports? Well you can. When you mention Josh McDaniels to Denver Bronco fans you get a number of different responses, and many of them are not good. Well at least that was the case before the Broncos started the season out at 2-0.
